Bookshelf

Here are a few of the books currently on my nightstand in addition to a few I come back to again and again.

You'll find mostly nonfiction (give me all the personal or business development and parenting books, please!) and cookbooks. When I do read fiction, it’s usually with my kids (big Harry Potter fans, currently.)

These books get my mind running with ideas and inspiration and help give me concrete ways to build a life that I love. And who knows, maybe I’ll add “author” to my bio someday.

Podcasts

So many options, so little time—here's what I'm listening to these days. It's definitely a little of this and a little of that.

I'm also one of those nerds who when I find a podcast that I like, will go back to Episode 1 and start from the beginning. I don't want to miss anything!

If you’re listening to an awesome podcast, please send it my way. I secretly love it when I’m in charge of the dishes because it means I can pop in my AirPods and sneak in a little “me time”— it’s multitasking at its finest.

Style

After our first kid, yoga pants became my M-F uniform. But I got tired of not feeling ready for whatever the day threw my way.

I started making it a habit to get ready every day, no matter what, and only wear workout clothes when I was, you know, working out. To this day it's one of my most important morning habits.

My baseline is casual (think white t-shirt and jeans) but lately, I find myself becoming a little more experimental with my style. Because life is short, those clothes in your closet are screaming to be worn and I want everything I do to reflect the true me.

Travel

I might just love a perfectly packed suitcase as much as I love an organized closet. Packing cubes are just the beginning of my favorite travel items.

Traveling (especially with kids) can be overwhelming so I think doing the right prep can go a long way in making a smooth travel day. That and snacks. All the snacks.

Wellness

Changing your life on the outside starts on the inside. Wellness can encompass so many different things; like most things in life, there are a million ways to self-care.

This is an area of my life where I'm constantly exploring and trying new things. I love running outside and for the first time ever we have a gym in our house, which I'm really excited about.

Wellness goes far beyond working out though. I'll share my favorites from meditation apps to superfood smoothie boosts and more.

Beauty

I love wearing makeup and trying new things. For example, in high school, I experimented with blue eyeshadow (before you gasp, it was blended with a shimmery tone to soften it.).

But when I became a mom, I felt so pressed for time that I was lucky if I got three minutes to slap on some mascara. With a few more babies and a whole lot less time, I realized I needed to MAKE the time to get ready.

Now doing my makeup in the morning while listening to a podcast sets the tone for my day. I'm on a never-ending search to find the best clean products, although sometimes your go-to mascara just doesn't have an acceptable clean counterpart and you have to roll with it.
